In December 2018, I was awarded my MA in Music from the Open University.
I graduated with my BA(Hons) in Music and Spanish from the Open University in 2003.
I graduated from (what is now) Salford University with my Advanced Diploma in Band Musicianship.
I hold a valid DBS certificate and have completed the NSPCC’s Child Protection Awareness course.
I have been playing in brass bands since the age of 7. I have played in some of the best bands in the country, participating in and winning competitions at a local, regional and national level. I have held the position of Musical Director at a number of brass bands and their training bands in the Warrington and North Cheshire area.
I have completed ABRSM’s graded exams up to high levels in Baritone, Guitar, Piano, and Music Theory.
I started teaching individual students in 1983, and have helped students achieve scholarships to some of the most prominent music schools in the UK.
I have taught Music and Spanish in both Private and State schools.
I have entered students for ABRSM graded exams, and more recently, I trained to become a Music Medals assessor.
I currently examine the ABRSM's Theory exams at grades 1-8.
I have achieved a 99% pass rate, with up to 65% achieving top results.

I graduated from the University of Reading with my BSc (Hons) in Zoology.
I graduated from Newcastle University with my MSc in Applied Entomology.
I completed my PGCE at (what is now) the University of Worcester.
I have played in Brass bands for about 20 years and have assisted in many training bands.
Upon retiring from Daresbury Laboratory in 2014, after 30 years’ service, I began working full time with Lynne in an Assistant Tutor and IT Support role.
I have completed my Music Theory exams at Grades 1-6 and Passed all of them with Distinction, and am fully committed to a continuing professional development plan.
